How much does it cost to join?: The initial costs to join Sunward Adventures Travel Agent Network is $400.00. The computer reservation software costs $150.00 and $250.00 for the first years annual dues.
What are the annual dues for?: The annual dues covers quite a few items, but one of the most important items is that when you use Sunward Adventures ARC, IATA, or CLIA number you are covered by our error and omission liability insurance. There is also a newsletter, an annual meeting, free document delivery via UPS and of course our web site.
What extra charges will I be charged for?: Any additional charges for sending more than one package to your agency each week

Mailing documents directly to your clients

Annual Dues of $250.00

Sunward Adventures does not charge for:
Printing tickets

Prepaid tickets at the airport (PTA's)

Miscellaneous Charges Orders (MCO's)

Tour Orders

Voiding tickets

Southwest handwritten tickets.

Using coupons or upgrade certificates

Exchanging tickets

Sending documents to your agency

Issuing commission statements
What other expenses will I have?: You are responsible for all the expenses you incur while operating your business. Some of the most common expenses are:

Internet Connection
Phone/Fax
Business Cards & Letterhead
Office Supplies
Business License
How much Commissions will I receive?: As long as you book travel through Focalpoint, you will receive 70% of the commission. This includes any overrides and bonuses at the time of booking.
Sunward Adventures receives overrides with most of the major travel suppliers.
How are commissions paid?: Sales commissions twice a month on or about the 15th and the 30th day of each month.
May I see a copy of your contract?: Yes, it is available for on-line viewing at: http://www.sunward.com/independent/contract.html
Will I be automatically receive the IATAN card?: Once you have earned the commission amount determined by IATAN, you are eligible for your IATAN card and industry benefits.
Once I join, am I allowed to sell travel without going through Sunward Adventures?: Yes, our independent contractors make their own choices. However, we are unable to help fix any problems or offer support for any travel arrangements made elsewhere.
Are independent contractors allowed to use Sunward Adventures as their business name?: Independent Contractors are required to have their own business name, and are allowed to advertise they are "affiliated with Sunward Adventures".
